Pritchard’s Bridge House barely impacts its site — a desirable attribute if you want all that nature around your house to stay natural. It’s sustainable in other ways, too: rain water is collected on the roof and used in the house; waste is pumped far away from the creek; photovoltaic cells above the garage supply the house with electricity; and local materials were used whenever possible. It’s green. It’s inexpensive. It’s on a stunning lot. Somebody give this house an award. Oh, the Australian Institute of Architects already did? Good. So we don’t have to.
