
Key international fashion figures, including Hussein Chalayan, Maison Martin Margiela, Bernhard Willhelm +Christophe Hamaide (AVAF), Pierre Hardy + Damien Blottière, Gaspard Yurkevitch, Antonio Marras and Raf Simons, all agreed to participate in Dyfashional’s grand experiment by contributing unique and often deeply personal reflections of their artistic processes. Chalayan’s Airmail Dresses, for example, shows a dress folding back on itself to take the shape of an envelope ready to be sent. “The sender can therefore impregnate this immaculate dress with both pen and body,” reads the artist’s statement. “The garment becomes a vehicle for change in the world as well as a genuine mode of expression.”
