Habitat Core Housing

A Core House for Haiti, by Habitat for Humanity

A Home in Haiti, an Atlanta organization that ships camping tents purchased by individual donors directly to the country, has intensified its outreach in recent weeks to beat the impending storms.
The second drive is to construct transitional housing, structures more secure than tents that can be occupied until permanent housing becomes available. The NGO Danish People’s Aid is building simple wood frame houses to shelter groups of four. The primary construction elements are prefabricated and delivered to the site in a kit that requires minimal time, skill, and additional materials to assemble.
