Reminiscent of the 1960s’ Diggers group in San Francisco, Urban Interventions is a comprehensive examination of what happens when art collides with infrastructure and people dare to challenge their surroundings. Turning the pages, you’ll find a man lying face-down in a large puddle, a bouquet of colorful balloons floating above him. Or a gigantic wad of pink bubblegum suspended between two walls of a narrow street. Whether it’s an installation of bicycle wheels on the corner, a man floating downriver in a life-size paper boat, or infamous business logos emblazoned on the back of a church pew, the results are altogether funny, shocking, and always unexpected.
