Most movingly the photographs capture the effects of time, portraying the house throughout the day and throughout the year. The building lies nestled within lush summer foliage, then sits exposed in a bleak winter landscape. Although these images were created digitally they sometimes resemble double exposures and faded-out Polaroids. They have a nostalgic, organic quality that hints at the building’s vulnerabilities, and at its eventual aging and ruin. In this sense they’re invaluable portraits.
