These days, grime videos are going viral — like everything else, including pirate radio, an essential component of the grime scene. Even with one of the major pirates, Rinse FM, going legal, there is no prediction for grime’s future. “There isn’t any governor of the scene,” says Jammer. “There are pioneers of the scene, like myself, but there isn’t anybody that is going to make that final decision where we don’t want it to go mainstream or we want it to. We love the music and the music is good. If the music gets played in clubs and bars or it gets played in daytime radio, then so be it. It doesn’t mean the music’s changed. It just means people have learned to accept it.”
