222 Mark Jackson   Without      Citing Michelangelo Antonioni and Marco Ferrari as influences, Jackson trained as a cinematographer in Italy. He feels very strongly about being in creative control over his projects and carefully chooses his team and his projects. As chief co-director of photography, Jessica Dimmock, a documentary photographer, became known for her harrowing depiction of NYC heroin addicts in her project The Ninth Floor. Jackson lauds her photojournalists’ eye that is able to show the audience not only what something looks like, but what it feels like. “We have very similar sensibilities, and we wanted to translate her particular way of seeing this story of grief and isolation” – Mark Jackson. The film has has been feted at various festivals around the country, won the Independent Vision Award at the Saratosa Film Festival and received a Special Jury Mention at the Atlanta Film Festival. Most recently, Without captured the Kodak Award for Best Cinematography and the Wouter Barendrecht Pioneering Vision Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival.
