Gifford’s houses shape the most obvious summer pleasures, giving beach-goers shady porches, sunken living rooms, wading pools, picture windows, and steps down to the water. But they shape deeper pleasures too, of comfort, simplicity, order and privacy. Each one is a rigorously composed structure that allows lives to unfold freely inside.
